At DGC Dance, we believe in sharing our passion for K-Pop and dance with as many people as possible in a fun & inclusive environment and aim to connect K-Pop fans in London.
We are one of the biggest London K-Pop dance communities and the longest running weekly K-Pop dance class in London.
We currently have a team of 9 passionate K-Pop dance instructors, a few team members working in operations and admin, plus some amazing volunteers from within the community. Together, we:
- run fun & friendly weekly K-Pop dance classes almost every day of the week in Central London,
- produce cinematic dance cover videos, and
- organise bi-annual student dance showcases

The Role
Please note: this position is to cover some teaching slots for the remaining months of 2024 (as some instructors are taking a break) however it can lead to a more permanent regular teaching position.
We are looking for part-time freelance teachers who can learn K-Pop dance routines from YouTube and then teach those dances to our students from beginners to improvers to intermediate.
Our teachers also lead students through K-Pop dance cover projects which will include anything from auditions, to rehearsals, to live dance show performances, to dance cover MVs and much more. As a DGC Dance teacher, you will help take our dance community through a full ‘K-Pop idol’ experience.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Learning K-Pop dance routines from YouTube videos
- Preparing for upcoming dance classes
- Teaching weekly K-Pop dance classes
- Filming class videos and uploading them to our Telegram channel within 24-48 hours of class
- Agreeing on teaching & rehearsal schedules
- Keeping accurate class attendance records
- Directing and leading dance cover projects including:
- Reviewing auditions to select dancers
- Preparing formation diagrams
- Assigning member allocations
- Running rehearsals
- Filming practice videos and uploading them to the group chat
- Agreeing concepts / themes for the cover
- Agreeing on filming locations & times
- Giving feedback to dancers
- Directing on the filming day, tech run rehearsals, and dance show days
- Flagging any issues or feedback to the team promptly and troubleshooting
- Responding to team communications in a timely manner
Requirements and skills:
- You are looking for a part-time freelance / self-employed role
- You have a strong passion for both K-Pop and teaching dance
- You have experience teaching (K-Pop) dance classes
- You have experience directing and leading team dance cover projects
- You can quickly and accurately learn choreography from YouTube videos and are able to plan and prepare class material accordingly
- You can break down choreography to beginners and teach dancers from a range of abilities
- You are able to teach with counts
- You are able to teach a variety of K-Pop dances, from girl group to boy group dances, and different dance styles within the K-Pop genre
- You are happy to teach repeat classes with the same material if required
- You are proactive & reliable with strong organisational skills and time management
- You are a clear & confident communicator both verbally and in writing
- You are enthusiastic, friendly and inclusive
- You are a positive team player
- You have a keen eye for detail with the ability to watch a group of dancers and spot areas to clean and any mistakes during rehearsals
- You are able to take / give constructive feedback from / to students and team members, and be able to adapt to changes

Location and commitments:
- Part-time, freelance / self-employed
- Classes and rehearsals are in central London
- You are available a minimum of 2 days each week (one or more for teaching and one for running rehearsals for dance cover projects).
- We are happy to consider 1 day a week if you are available on weekends for a 4-5 hour slot (teach and rehearse on the same day).
- Our class and rehearsal time slots are on weekday evenings between 18:30-21:30 and on the weekends between 11:30-17:45. A standard class is 2 hours long.
- The slots we are looking to cover are Monday evenings, Wednesday evenings, Thursday evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday afternoons
- You are available on weekends (once every few months) to direct the filming of dance cover video projects and attend our dance showcases every 6 months.
